Organic Rooibos Loose Leaf Tea

Organic Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) is a caffeine-free red tea that originates in South Africa, it has a naturally full-bodied, rich, earthy-sweet flavour. Rooibos is low in tannins and thought to hold many health benefits due to its high levels of health-promoting antioxidants, which include aspalathin and quercetin. 

Organic Rooibos Loose Leaf Tea is best steeped for at least 5 minutes. Drink it plain or with honey, lemon and/or milk.

It originates from the Cederberg region in South Africa, where the indigenous Khoisan people first discovered the plant's medicinal properties centuries ago. However, it wasn't until the 20th century that rooibos gained international recognition. In the 1930s, a South African mother and son, Benjamin Ginsberg, began promoting rooibos tea as a caffeine-free alternative to traditional teas. Their efforts led to the commercial cultivation and widespread popularity of rooibos. Today, rooibos tea is enjoyed globally for its earthy, naturally sweet flavour and its reputation as a caffeine-free, antioxidant-rich herbal tea with numerous health benefits.
